The evidence is clear and consistent: Active learning is superior to passive listening. In this workshop you will review the evidence, take part in 2 or 3 active learning exercises, and practice developing your own active learning exercises for your next learning initiative.
This presentation will support your development in the following areas of the ATD Competency Model.
John Kostek is a Learning & Performance Consultant for Hitachi Vantara. Prior to joining a technology company, he was a Research Associate in a joint position between the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Neuroscience at Rutgers Medical School and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
John’s evidence-based training programs have won praise from Chief Learning Officer, Brandon Hall Group, and the Association for Talent Development and his research has been published in Journal of Neuroscience, Journal of Gambling Studies, Journal of Behavioral Addictions, Journal of Traumatic Stress, Computers in Human Behavior, Handbook of Personality at Work, Handbook of Testing and Assessment in Psychology and TD Magazine.
John lives and hikes in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his wife, Amanda Stewart, and two German Shepherd Dogs.
