Counterintuitive Principles that Make for Better Learning: Part 1

This is Part 1 in a two-part series--join us for both! Register for each part individually. There is the option to join one or both sessions.

Suppose you ran a training program last year, and you made some changes. This year, learners report that they enjoy the experience more. But did you really improve the training? Maybe not. Intuition about how to manage learning often leads us astray. Come learn about counterintuitive principles of learning, and how to distinguish training that feels effective from training that really is effective.

Attending this two-session series, participants will:

    1. Get a peek at how your own brain works.
    2. Be better able to identify misguided intuition about how people learn.
    3. Discover how to create long-lasting learning for your trainees.

    When: Thursday, 06/17/21, 11:30a-1:00p

    • 11:30a-12:00p - Networking
    • 12:00-12:50p - Presentation

Creating a Coaching Culture: The New Solution to Connect Today’s Workforce

Many organizations experienced a large transition of their workforce last year, that came with benefits and challenges--challenges in keeping employees engaged and ensuring their overall wellbeing for sustainable productivity and results.

A critical tool to keep employees engaged is a coaching culture that gets people throughout the organization the answers/assistance/support they need, when they need it- even while working remotely - to get desired results.

In this webinar, Seth Connors, co-founder of Zero to Ten and bestselling author, will introduce a self-directed approach for people getting the help they need with a new process called Self-Directed Performance Coaching®. This framework helps organizations of all sizes create a coaching culture where everyone can get a coach and be a coach to dramatically accelerate collaboration, knowledge transfer, and overall engagement, regardless of where they are working, to drive the results needed in 2021.

    Attending this session, participants will:
    1. Learn how to scale coaching in your organization to support current reshaping/pivoting of the business
    2. Strategically point your coaching culture at 2021 objectives.
    3. Reinforce and accelerate ongoing results to achieve end-of-year targets.

Finding Gratitude in the Face of Uncertainty? Inoculating Your Brain Against Anxiety and Stress

Have you noticed that some people are able to maintain a relatively positive attitude regardless of what’s happening around them? Like everyone, they can appreciate the good times, but they also seem to be able to focus on the positive in the face of so much uncertainty and what seems like a string of daily negative events.

Fortunately, a positive attitude can be cultivated, with a little practice. Although we are born with specific temperamental tendencies, the brain is a muscle, and you can strengthen your mind’s natural tendency toward optimism if you work at it. And also, fortunately, working on building your "gratitude muscle" can be enjoyable in itself. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed and frustrated or just want to increase your happiness, you can learn how in just a few minutes a day!

Join Devin C. Hughes, keynote speaker and author of Simple Tips to Be a Happier YOU: Scientifically Proven to Help You Everyday, and learn the real, tangible, and practical ways that you can apply immediately to get on the highway to true happiness at work or home. In this webinar, you will learn:

    1. New ideas for boosting your own attitude and ways to increase productivity at work
    2. How positive psychology and social-emotional intelligence impacts your performance and health
    3. To develop strategies for creating a positive culture at work
    4. Practical strategies for happiness on a daily basis at work
    5. And more!
