The workplace will always have conflict, which can assume many forms, from small encounters to full - scale battles between men and women. Where there are people and relationships, conflict is inevitable. One of the hallmark signs of a successful organization is the ability to work through the conflict. One of the keys to managing conflict successfully requires an understanding of how women and men handle conflict and how to channel these differences for a productive outcome. When men and women come together at work, they each bring their distinctive style of handling conflict, and often their styles clash and result in a lot of confusion. Moving beyond the rejection of sex differences and accepting that each style of handling conflict has some merit and can be managed is critical to creating more victors than victims and managing the conflict for a constructive result for both women and men.
