Today, most learning is blended learning, meaning that learning initiatives include some combination of live learning and self-directed learning supported by resources like online modules, infographics, videos, and other multimedia. When designed and implemented effectively, blended learning is very powerful, and you can design powerful blended learning by answering three key questions as you design your curriculum:

Kimberly Fields owns and operates KF Instructional Design Solutions in Fort Collins and has been dabbling with blended learning design for over fifteen years. While serving as faculty at Laramie County Community College, from 2009-2012, she designed and taught the college's first blended learning composition course. Recent blended learning projects include the creation of blended onboarding activities for the opening of the restaurant chain Sweetgreen's newest store model as well as the creation of a blended virtual DiSC certification that will launch in July 2020.
