"Immersive Story-based eLearning: Transforming Dull to Dynamic!" with Dr. Howard Lewis, Ph.D., CPT
Early one morning my phone
rang and after exchanging
pleasantries, my client said: “We just published a new policy on the new U.K. Bribery Act. It’s dull, boring legalese and the training will be mandatory. What can you do to make this interesting?” Under most circumstances, the prudent thing to do would have been to make some static noises and “accidently” disconnect the line. However, I kinda like a challenge, so I said “Let me see what I can do!”
As designers and developers, how often do we find
ourselves in this situation? You’re faced with content that appears dry, formal, and lifeless.
How can you create an effective learning experience?

In this interactive session, Dr. Howard Lewis will
facilitate a dialogue around how an immersive story-
based approach can transform dull content into a
dynamic, immersive and engaging eLearning program.
Dr. Lewis will walk through a Fortune 100 company
case example highlighting how the project moved from
concept to completion. And, you’ll have a chance to
view the online course and “go behind the screens” to
discuss how critical instructional and eLearning design
techniques were applied.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe a structure for designing story-based eLearning.
- Identify instructional techniques for engaging learners within a story-based approach.
- Explain how to exceed stakeholder expectations by going beyond the stated learning objectives.
- Provide examples of low-cost, creative eLearning design.
Join us for an informative and interactive hour with Dr. Lewis!
