Join Dave Vance, former CLO for Caterpillar Inc, to learn about ROI, one of the most controversial and misused concepts in our profession. In fact, few other topics in our field evoke such heartfelt emotion. Dave will define ROI and discuss its evolution, including its misuses. We will explore how it can be calculated in theory and in the real world, and how (and when) it should be used. Dave will share examples from his experience at Caterpillar where they used ROI. Expect to have some fun with this topic!
After attending this presentation participants will be able to…
1. Define ROI and how it is calculated.
2. Understand the contribution Jack Phillips made when he introduced ROI as level 5 in 1983.
